Privacy policy and terms of use
Dirent is a file manager that runs entirely on your device. It holds no network permission at all, so it cannot send your files, your file names, or anything else off the device.
All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). It is what
lets the app list and manage the storage you point it at. A folder is read when you
open or search it, and a file is touched only when you ask the app to copy, move or
open one. The permission is used for that and nothing else.
Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting.
There is no code that could add any of those: besides the permission above, the app
holds no network permission, and it ships no Java or Kotlin code of its own
(android:hasCode="false" in the manifest).
Your settings — whether the category cards are shown, and the state of the Power user switches — are written to a small file in this app's own private storage, which no other app can read. Uninstalling the app removes it.
The app cannot reach the network, so there is nothing to request, export or delete on a server: whatever it knows about your files stays on your device, and uninstalling the app removes all of it.
Dirent is experimental software, provided as is and without warranty of any kind. You use it at your own risk.
You are responsible for the files you change with this app. Deleting removes a file for good — this version has no recycle bin and no undo. Copying and moving can take a while on a large folder; cancelling a job stops it where it is and removes the partial copy it had made, but a move that has already renamed or deleted the original is done.
Take a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose before pointing a pre-0.1 app at it.
All-files access is granted for the file management you ask for and for nothing else. Root and Shizuku are optional, off by default, and only ever used if you switch them on. If you do switch them on, you are responsible for what the app does with the elevated access you gave it.
This is a personal project rather than a product. There is no support, no warranty and no guarantee that any particular operation behaves the way you expect on your device.
